Side Effects & Religious Liberty & the Supreme Court.

Blog of Manhattan Right to Life

Side effects: Doctors fear ObamaCare.

The American public doesn’t support ObamaCare, and a new survey shows that doctors have an even worse opinion. No one has a better grasp on the state of the health care system than physicians, and according to the Doctors Company survey, 60 percent believe that ObamaCare will have a negative impact on overall patient care.

Statement on Religious Freedom and HHS Mandate.

The Administrative Committee of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, gathered for its March 2012 meeting, is strongly unified and intensely focused in its opposition to the various threats to religious freedom in our day.

Supreme Court’s ObamaCare decision has big abortion impact.

Today is the day, where all Americans, must draw a line in the sand and say “No More!” We will no longer remain silent, we will fight for the freedoms of all Americans, born and preborn, and we will stand against this unconstitutional injustice.

Supreme Court ends marathon ObamaCare oral arguments.

ObamaCare is a massive, sprawling 2,700-page-long law that (as the New York Times described it) “fundamentally alter[es] the architecture of the American health-care system.”

Presidential leadership and ObamaCare.

With public opinion clearly opposed to ObamaCare and the possibility that the Supreme Court will declare some or all of the law unconstitutional, the Obama Administration and its defenders are adhering to the old adage that the best defense is a good offense.

Obama, At It Again; Texas & Court

Blog of Manhattan Right to Life

Obama Admin OKs using aborted babies’ brains in lab tests.

Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life has uncovered information showing a clinical trial, approved by the Food and Drug Administration, uses brain tissue from aborted unborn babies to treat macular degeneration.

Texas sues Obama Admin for pulling low-income health funds over Planned Parenthood defunding.

Texas’ attorney general is suing the Obama Administration for gutting funding to a $40 million health program for low-income women because the state has banned the funds from going to a small fraction of providers affiliated with abortion, including Planned Parenthood.

Obama Admin widens abortifacient birth control mandate to college students.

In a move that is likely to reignite the ire of religious leaders, the Obama administration announced a proposal that would require universities, including religious universities, to provide abortion-inducing drugs, contraception, sterilization, to their students, as well as their employees, without co-pay. This appears to widen the originally announced HHS mandate, which had only applied to employees.

A Week from Supreme Court Oral Arguments, three polls show strong opposition to ObamaCare.

A week out from a three-day vetting by the United States Supreme Court, recent polls show the depths of the opposition to ObamaCare. The numbers are genuinely striking, especially given that supporters have massaged questions for months to try to tamp down the level of opposition.

The ObamaCare Second Anniversary: no gift for women.

The focus here is on the law’s impact on American women. Advocates will be highlighting better benefits and free preventive care, but Heritage research shows that the health law’s new requirements will reduce patient choice, increase costs, and violate religious liberty—for women and everyone else, too.

Obama's Rules & Happy St. Patrick's Day.

Blog of Manhattan Right to Life

Obama finalizes rules: $1 Abortions in ObamaCare.

It’s official. The concern pro-life organizations had about the ObamaCare legislation funding abortions has been confirmed, as the Obama administration has issued the final pro-abortion rules on abortion funding for ObamaCare.

Planned Parenthood accused of $6M fraud.

A Planned Parenthood affiliate in Texas knowingly sent in about $6 million in false claims to Medicaid and took steps to cover up its acts, says a federal “whistleblower” lawsuit that was just unsealed.

The ‘Accommodation’ that isn’t.

Over the past several days, it’s become clear that Obama’s talks with religious leaders — over the “accommodation” to HHS’s recent regulations on mandatory abortifacient, sterilization and contraceptive benefits in insurance plans — are not going terribly well.

Obama’s great abortifacient, sterilization, contraception spin machine.

The blurb says it all!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!: Irish Government Rejects UN Pressure to Legalize Abortion.

The Irish government again rejected pressure from the United Nations for legal abortion stating that Ireland will not legalize abortion as recommended.

Obama, Forced Mandates and Planned Parenthood's $$.

Blog of Manhattan Right to Life

Turning back to the coercive mandate the Obama Administration is forcing on the USA . . .

The Sandra Fluke frenzy has been adroitly used by anti-life forces: from the beginning, the administration’s strategy on the mandate issue has been to confuse and distract, counting on people losing interest in the midst of complication; along with drama: bishops vs. women [never mind that it's not true].

Resistance grows to Obama mandate.

An update in the many-pronged resistance to Obama’s Mandate that forces virtually all employers (religious, religiously-affiliated, or secular) to pay for services they regard as morally objectionable.

The “After-Birth Abortion” President.

There has been a lot of justifiable outrage over an essay published in the “Journal of Medical Ethics,” arguing infanticide. This outrage should remind citizens of the United States that Barack Hussein Obama opposed the Born-Alive Infant Protection Act while a state senator in Illinois.

Abortions at Planned Parenthood: Done in record numbers.

Here are Planned Parenthood’s own numbers. They reflect their activity in the abortion arena. As anyone can see, they are increasingly invested in performing this gruesome procedure.

YOUR tax dollars at work: Planned Parenthood gets almost half of its income from tax money.

Planned Parenthood has released its new annual report and the figures show the abortion business continues to make money despite PP's status as a nonprofit organization — and PP receives almost half of it's income from taxpayer dollars.

Death Panels, Abortifacient Fines and Wealthy Abortionists.

Blog of Manhattan Right to Life

House Committee votes to Repeal Obama’s “Death Panels.”

Lawmakers on a House health subcommittee began the process of reversing one of the more contentious parts of ObamaCare today as they approved bipartisan legislation to repeal the cost control board that has been called “death panels.”

Congress told ObamaCare abortifacient fines could run to $620,000.

Fines on religious groups for refusing to provide funding for abortion producing drugs like Ella and Plan B are significant, probably ruinous.

“A radically new and sharply diminished approach to how government will define religious liberty in the future”

Archbishop George Niederauer added his voice to the rising chorus of opposition to Obama’s mandate that requires religiously-affiliated universities, hospitals, and charities to pay for health insurance that covers abortifacients, sterilization and contraception.

Here in NY Wealthy abortionist Merle Hoffman will open a giant abortion mill in Jamaica, Queens.

As the New York Post put it: “One of New York’s largest abortion clinics to open in Jamaica.” By the way, this mill will perform roughly 10,000 abortions a year, roughly 30 per day!

Obama wants yet another far out pro-abortion judge!

Obama added to his pro-abortion record by placing yet another abortion activist in nomination to a top federal appeals court — this time a lawyer credited with helping craft the Roe v. Wade decision.
