Rationed end of life care for the elderly.
By centralizing control of health care, ObamaCare will cause us to turn on each other to grab bigger pieces of the medical pie. The elderly will be among the first victims, as has already happened in England. Recently, NPR held a debate on this very timely topic.

Debates + Religious Liberty + Two and\or One.

Blog of Manhattan Right to Life

Reflections on the second presidential debate.

NRLC's Dave Andrusko comments on some of the more interesting results of Debate Two, such as the all-important issue of the economy, where Romney lapped Obama, 65% to 34%, according to a CBS News Instant Poll.  Read on.

A Draw, or Better Than a Draw

Obama did not forfeit the debate as last time, and took his cue from Joe Biden in interrupting and muttering while Romney spoke, so his energy made it an entertaining night. Nevertheless, the same theme as in Denver emerged — Romney more often providing specific proposals and detailed critiques, and Obama preferring more often emoting and running more on hypotheticals, as if he were not an incumbent with a depressing record that he is obligated to defend.

Once again, Obama’s record wins it for Romney.

On the economy, even a re-energized Obama couldn’t overcome one nagging problem: His record. When it was time to defend four years of stagnation, Obama bent time and space and blamed Mitt Romney.

Debunked: Biden claims HHS Mandate not an assault on Religious Liberty.

The real “fact” about the anti-conscience mandate is that it applies to almost all employers—including many religious organizations such as hospitals and social service providers. It requires them to provide coverage that pays for abortion drugs, contraception, and sterilization regardless of moral or religious objections. The mandate affords the narrowest religious exemption in federal law, effectively covering only formal houses of worship.

When Planned Parenthood kills women too: A two for one deal?

It’s an ugly, immoral job, but by using phrases like “termination of pregnancy,” “pro-choice,” and “women’s health,” Planned Parenthood has been able to maintain both a quasi-respectable public image and their killing fields—all at the same time.  That all changed in July when 24-year old Tonya Reaves bled to death after an employee at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Chicago aborted Tonya’s baby in the second trimester.  Roughly 12 hours after the child had been dismembered and pulled from Tonya’s womb, the 24-year-old was pronounced dead.

More debates! + HHS, again! + Who pays?

Blog of Manhattan Right to Life

Biden again puts out that he is personally opposed but . . . the decision to abort a child should be between a woman and her doctor.

One of the more fascinating and telling moments from last night’s vice-presidential debate, unfolded when moderator Martha Raddatz asked the candidates to speak about their faith and how it has impacted their stances on abortion.  Biden put out that when it comes to policy he refuses to force his abortion views upon others. The decision to abort a child, Biden maintained, should be between a woman and her doctor.

Joe Biden the flip-flopper: From “pro-life” to pro-abortion.

Joe Biden will continue the Obama campaign theme that Romney and Ryan hold “extreme” views on pro-life issues, or even that Republicans are waging a “war on women.” Yet, for anyone who is familiar with Biden’s actual record . . . .

No Debate + Repeal + Polls,

Blog of Manhattan Right to Life
Those who say they can't support Romney are fooling themselves:  they ARE SUPPORTING OBAMA!!

No debate: Romney overwhelming winner in first presidential debate!

Facts are facts and they need no embellishment: Barack Hussein gave one of the worst debate performances in memory. He was, in a word, awful.

To repeal ObamaCare, repeal Obama.

Mitt Romney has stressed repealing ObamaCare — which pro-life groups strongly oppose because it funds abortions, prompts rationing concerns, and has the HHS mandate forcing religious groups to pay for abortion-causing drugs — throughout the campaign.

Obama’s claim IPAB doesn’t ration health care don’t match reality.

Obama claims the IPAB doesn’t make rationing decisions. But Obama is wrong and his statements misleading during the presidential debate.

Planned Parenthood, Your Taxes, Medicare Distortions.

Blog of Manhattan Right to Life

Planned Parenthood’s largest ad buy ever slams Romney on Abortion.

The Planned Parenthood abortion business is making the single largest television advertising purchase in its history and the ads will run in key battleground states attacking Mitt Romney over his opposition to abortion.

Democrats’ position: More abortions, without apology, paid for by you!

It took no particular power of prophecy to see that the  Democratic convention was a hotbed of abortion advocates whose platform plank proudly, even defiantly, espoused abortion for any reason, or no reason, up to the moment of birth -- paid for by your tax dollars.

In a weekend interview, presidential candidate Mitt Romney reiterated his pro-life position favoring the reversal of the Roe v. Obama campaigns on Abortion to hide his economic failure.

One would guess that the Obama campaign would welcome the GOP’s convention's downplaying social issues, but instead it has chosen to place abortion in the spotlight with ads berating Republicans for their pro-life stance on the issue. Nicholas Cafardi, a lawyer and newly named co-chair of "Catholics for Obama," has made a rather dubious claim: that it is Obama, and not Mitt Romney, who is the “true” pro-life candidate in this presidential election.

Jane Pitt, the mother of actor Brad Pitt, is making waves after penning a letter to the editor for her local newspaper slamming Obama and urging fellow Christians to vote for Mitt Romney.

Responding to: “I’m Pro-Life But Can’t Force my Morality on Others.”

This is an argument usually coming from people who don’t want to take a stand against abortion or get involved with pro-life work. They always say that other people don’t believe that abortion is killing a human so we can’t force “our morality” on them. Just because we are pro-life does not mean we should tell someone who is not pro-life they should not have an abortion.

ObamaCare: First + Last.

What is ObamaCare's "Independent Payment Advisory Board" and why was it was created?

IPAB was created pursuant to section 3403 of the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act "(PPACA), and its ostensible purpose is to "control costs." In reality, the board's fifteen "experts" will impose old-fashioned price controls. Before Obamacare was signed into law in March of 2010, only Congress had the power to make changes to Medicare's reimbursement rates. But PPACA, for all intents and purposes, transfers that power to this tiny cadre of presidential appointees who will have no accountability to the voters.

Wisconsin, Religious Liberty and Sex Selection.

Blog of Manhattan Right to Life

National Right to Life News Today editor Dave Andrusko talks about Wisconsin.

As we all know, Gov. Scott Walker defeated pro-abortion Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett by a bigger margin than in 2010—almost exactly 7 points. Dave won’t spend much time talking about exit polls except . . . .

What does Scott Walker’s recall victory mean for unborn children?

Barbara Lyons, the Executive Director of Wisconsin Right to Life has a one word answer:  Everything.

Battle against Obama’s HHS mandate not just for Catholics.

Religious freedom has been assumed safe by Americans who may or may not even attend a church or synagogue regularly. The steeples on the country hillsides, as well as those pointing upward here and there amid the city skylines, are a reminder of the religious heritage of this nation, and many assume what once was always will be.  But this is not the case, and it has never been the case.

The Church pushes back.

The question is not whether contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs are available — it is whether religious organizations can be forced to provide free access to them.

Ariz. abortion clinics agreed to illegally provide sex-selective abortions.

Video highlighting “Gendercide” in America shows two National Abortion Federation (NAF) clinics in Arizona agreeing to break state law and perform abortions because the mothers did not want to have girl babies.

Obama Developments, Cringing & Guttmacher Inst.

Blog of Manhattan Right to Life

Obama’s Pro-Abortion Record.

A pro-life compilation so you can check out the evolving Obama record.

Chief Justice Roberts threatened on ObamaCare.

Senator Leahy of Vermont, directed a threat at Chief Justice Roberts, demanding that the Chief Justice vote to uphold ObamaCare. This is considered a warning shot to the Justices deciding the Healthcare law. With this, Barack Hussein Obama and his allies in Congress have stepped outside precedent, sending threatening signals to the Judiciary.

Thank goodness I can still cringe!

When speaking to the broader public—as opposed to what they tell each other—pro-abortionists will often feign an attitude that they, too, understand that abortion is serious business and not to be trivialized. They don’t mean it for a half-second, of course, but for public consumption it helps take the edge off their fanaticism.

New regulation forces private insurers to advertise ObamaCare.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has finalized a rule that requires insurers to notify rebate recipients that their rebate is thanks to Obamacare. In the first paragraph it must state, “This letter is to inform you that you will receive a rebate of a portion of your health insurance premiums. This rebate is required by the Affordable Care Act—the health reform law.”

Guttmacher Institute study grossly misrepresents data:  Abortion does not improve women's reproductive health.

The Chilean study raises serious questions about the claims by government officials and other abortion advocates who say that abortion is a critical component of quality medical care for women. Initiatives that promote abortion for the health and well-being of women increasingly appear to be motivated by ideology and based on something other than science.

The year 2012 is now upon us -- this new year will be the most important year in the pro-life struggle since abortion-on-demand was first made legal!

There are two very different ways that this very important year can end up. On the one hand, we could see a pro-life president inaugurated, taking office along with a pro-life Congress, which will then begin to address the failings of ObamaCare.
On the other hand, Barack Hussein Obama -- along with his radically pro-abortion administration -- could be re-elected. This means full implementation of ObamaCare, with its special abortion tax, health care rationing, forced participation in abortions by medical professionals, all among other things
The first thing we have to do is get informed -- and stay informed. Check MRLC's blog. Check in weekly. Keep up with the selections on our Resource Page, including National RTL and New York State RTL.
Here at Manhattan Right to Life, we too need your help to tell the truth about abortion and save babies' lives.

Forty-three Catholic dioceses, schools, hospitals, social service agencies, and other institutions filed suit today, accusing Obama’s Department of Health and Human Services of violating the First Amendment and federal law by requiring Catholic organizations to “sacrifice their beliefs in order to be able to continue their mission of serving all people in need.”

Pepsi stops, Obama's "Faith Advisor" and Oklahoma & Georgia.

Blog of Manhattan Right to Life

Pepsi stops using aborted fetal cell lines to test flavors.

After months of pro-life protests and opposition, PepsiCo has indicated it will no longer contract with biotech firm Senomyx Inc., which uses cells from babies killed by abortion to conduct flavor testing.

Obama's "Faith Advisor" to head Pro-Abortion religious group.

The Obama administration has a history of hiring pro-abortion activists for top staff positions. Now, a pro-abortion former member of Obama’s faith advisory committee has taken a position heading up a pro-abortion religious group.  The Reverend Harry Knox, a former official with the pro-abortion Human Rights Campaign who has served on the Obama faith-based commission, will serve as the head of the Religious Coalition on Reproductive Choice (RCRC).

Are the scales falling from the public’s eyes about Obama?

You could fill an entire library with books on the topic of why do genuinely smart people so often put their intelligence in mothballs? I can understand falling in love with “Hope and Change”—well, I kind of understand—but why did that leave people who are not on the left of the ideological spectrum so enthralled by a man about whom they knew next to nothing?

Obama is headed anywhere but forward.

You have to hand it to Obama and his cabal of re-election strategists; they are masters of illusion. Their newly released Web video and its accompanying campaign slogan, "Forward," are science fiction-level fantastical.

Pro-Life bills signed into law in Oklahoma and Georgia.

It’s been a very good four days for the Right to Life Movement. On Friday, pro-life Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin signed into law two measures.

One More Time, PP & HHS, Non-physicians Doing Abortions.
One more time: ObamaCare funds abortions.
Pro-abortion activists know public outrage will ensue if ObamaCare’s hidden agenda is fully exposed to the American people. So many pro-abortion bloggers and members of the media have tried to hide the reality of the “abortion premium mandate” — contained within ObamaCare. It’s imperative that you understand the facts they’re trying to hide.

Obama hires Planned Parenthood spokesman at HHS.
The Obama administration has hired the former top spokesman for the Planned Parenthood abortion business as deputy assistant secretary for public affairs at the Department of Health and Human Services. Tait Sye, the former media director for the nation’s biggest abortion business, will now work in the press shop for the department that is under fire for promoting abortion funding via Obamacare and putting forward a mandate that forces religious groups to pay for birth control and abortion-causing drugs for their employees.

Pro-Lifers to Congress: get moving on Planned Parenthood probe.
Representative Cliff Stearns, chair of a House subcommittee, launched a Congressional investigation of Planned Parenthood after abuses the abortion centers it runs were reported and news stories surfaced showing Planned Parenthood affiliates engaging in fraudulent activities with taxpayer funds.

Non-physicians -- nurses? -- performing abortions ? ?
The California Senate Public Safety Committee Tuesday passed a measure that would allow non-physicians to perform first-trimester aspiration abortions. SB 1338, passed strictly along party lines, now moves to the Senate Business and Professions Committee where it will be heard on Thursday.

The Real “War on Women."
According to the “mainstream” media and prominent leaders like Obama and Pelosi, there is a cultural “war on women” taking place in America. It’s a great slogan ginned up to motivate their liberal supporters. Women are being victimized, but not in the way the media is portraying it.

Texas fully funds women’s health program: without Planned Parenthood.

Abortion advocates complained the state of Texas would leave women without access to a health program now that the state has decided to revoke taxpayer funding for the Planned Parenthood abortion business; however, Texas officials have fully funded the program to provide women with non-abortion reproductive health care at many locations across the state.

Cardinal Slams Obama Admin. on Mandate: The Church didn’t ask for a fight.

During a weekend interview, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, took the Obama administration to task again for its controversial mandate requiring religious employers to pay for drugs that can cause abortions.

Mississippi moves, Obama moves and NARAL moves.

Blog of Manhattan Right to Life

Barack Hussein never sleeps!

Obama puts Internal Revenue to work implementing ObamaCare.

Mississippi could become the First Abortion-Free State.

The Mississippi state Senate has approved a measure that could result in stopping abortions at the last remaining abortion facility in the state, making it the first abortion-free state in the country.

Obama attaches stark terms to possible Supreme Court ruling on his health law.

After a brief silence on the topic, Barack Hussein Obama stepped into the debate over how the Supreme Court might rule on his health law, blasting the Court.

Obama defending ObamaCare: upfront and very personal

“Barack Obama has joined a growing number of Democratic lawmakers, left-leaning commentators and progressive activists who are warning the Supreme Court on the health care law: Don’t you dare overturn it."

Side Effects & Religious Liberty & the Supreme Court.

Blog of Manhattan Right to Life

Side effects: Doctors fear ObamaCare.

The American public doesn’t support ObamaCare, and a new survey shows that doctors have an even worse opinion. No one has a better grasp on the state of the health care system than physicians, and according to the Doctors Company survey, 60 percent believe that ObamaCare will have a negative impact on overall patient care.

Statement on Religious Freedom and HHS Mandate.

The Administrative Committee of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, gathered for its March 2012 meeting, is strongly unified and intensely focused in its opposition to the various threats to religious freedom in our day.

Supreme Court’s ObamaCare decision has big abortion impact.

Today is the day, where all Americans, must draw a line in the sand and say “No More!” We will no longer remain silent, we will fight for the freedoms of all Americans, born and preborn, and we will stand against this unconstitutional injustice.

Supreme Court ends marathon ObamaCare oral arguments.

ObamaCare is a massive, sprawling 2,700-page-long law that (as the New York Times described it) “fundamentally alter[es] the architecture of the American health-care system.”

Presidential leadership and ObamaCare.

With public opinion clearly opposed to ObamaCare and the possibility that the Supreme Court will declare some or all of the law unconstitutional, the Obama Administration and its defenders are adhering to the old adage that the best defense is a good offense.

Obama, At It Again; Texas & Court

Blog of Manhattan Right to Life

Obama Admin OKs using aborted babies’ brains in lab tests.

Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life has uncovered information showing a clinical trial, approved by the Food and Drug Administration, uses brain tissue from aborted unborn babies to treat macular degeneration.

Texas sues Obama Admin for pulling low-income health funds over Planned Parenthood defunding.

Texas’ attorney general is suing the Obama Administration for gutting funding to a $40 million health program for low-income women because the state has banned the funds from going to a small fraction of providers affiliated with abortion, including Planned Parenthood.

Obama Admin widens abortifacient birth control mandate to college students.

In a move that is likely to reignite the ire of religious leaders, the Obama administration announced a proposal that would require universities, including religious universities, to provide abortion-inducing drugs, contraception, sterilization, to their students, as well as their employees, without co-pay. This appears to widen the originally announced HHS mandate, which had only applied to employees.

A Week from Supreme Court Oral Arguments, three polls show strong opposition to ObamaCare.

A week out from a three-day vetting by the United States Supreme Court, recent polls show the depths of the opposition to ObamaCare. The numbers are genuinely striking, especially given that supporters have massaged questions for months to try to tamp down the level of opposition.

The ObamaCare Second Anniversary: no gift for women.

The focus here is on the law’s impact on American women. Advocates will be highlighting better benefits and free preventive care, but Heritage research shows that the health law’s new requirements will reduce patient choice, increase costs, and violate religious liberty—for women and everyone else, too.

Obama's Rules & Happy St. Patrick's Day.

Blog of Manhattan Right to Life

Obama finalizes rules: $1 Abortions in ObamaCare.

Planned Parenthood accused of $6M fraud.

A Planned Parenthood affiliate in Texas knowingly sent in about $6 million in false claims to Medicaid and took steps to cover up its acts, says a federal “whistleblower” lawsuit that was just unsealed.

The ‘Accommodation’ that isn’t.

Over the past several days, it’s become clear that Obama’s talks with religious leaders — over the “accommodation” to HHS’s recent regulations on mandatory abortifacient, sterilization and contraceptive benefits in insurance plans — are not going terribly well.

Obama’s great abortifacient, sterilization, contraception spin machine.

Obama, Forced Mandates and Planned Parenthood's $$.

Blog of Manhattan Right to Life

Turning back to the coercive mandate the Obama Administration is forcing on the USA . . .

The Sandra Fluke frenzy has been adroitly used by anti-life forces: from the beginning, the administration’s strategy on the mandate issue has been to confuse and distract, counting on people losing interest in the midst of complication; along with drama: bishops vs. women [never mind that it's not true].

Resistance grows to Obama mandate.

An update in the many-pronged resistance to Obama’s Mandate that forces virtually all employers (religious, religiously-affiliated, or secular) to pay for services they regard as morally objectionable.

The “After-Birth Abortion” President.

There has been a lot of justifiable outrage over an essay published in the “Journal of Medical Ethics,” arguing infanticide. This outrage should remind citizens of the United States that Barack Hussein Obama opposed the Born-Alive Infant Protection Act while a state senator in Illinois.

Abortions at Planned Parenthood: Done in record numbers.

Here are Planned Parenthood’s own numbers. They reflect their activity in the abortion arena. As anyone can see, they are increasingly invested in performing this gruesome procedure.

YOUR tax dollars at work: Planned Parenthood gets almost half of its income from tax money.

Planned Parenthood has released its new annual report and the figures show the abortion business continues to make money despite PP's status as a nonprofit organization — and PP receives almost half of it's income from taxpayer dollars.

Death Panels, Abortifacient Fines and Wealthy Abortionists.

Blog of Manhattan Right to Life

House Committee votes to Repeal Obama’s “Death Panels.”

Lawmakers on a House health subcommittee began the process of reversing one of the more contentious parts of ObamaCare today as they approved bipartisan legislation to repeal the cost control board that has been called “death panels.”

Congress told ObamaCare abortifacient fines could run to $620,000.

Fines on religious groups for refusing to provide funding for abortion producing drugs like Ella and Plan B are significant, probably ruinous.

“A radically new and sharply diminished approach to how government will define religious liberty in the future”

Archbishop George Niederauer added his voice to the rising chorus of opposition to Obama’s mandate that requires religiously-affiliated universities, hospitals, and charities to pay for health insurance that covers abortifacients, sterilization and contraception.

Here in NY Wealthy abortionist Merle Hoffman will open a giant abortion mill in Jamaica, Queens.

As the New York Post put it: “One of New York’s largest abortion clinics to open in Jamaica.” By the way, this mill will perform roughly 10,000 abortions a year, roughly 30 per day!

Obama wants yet another far out pro-abortion judge!

Obama added to his pro-abortion record by placing yet another abortion activist in nomination to a top federal appeals court — this time a lawyer credited with helping craft the Roe v. Wade decision.

The U.S. Senate is expected to vote soon on a vital pro-life amendment offered by Senator Roy Blunt, the most likely time frame for the vote now appears to be the week of February 27.

More Lawsuits filed against Obama Mandate.

Contrary to the confident assurances of the Obama administration, opposition to its mandate requiring religiously-affiliated universities, hospitals, and charities to pay for health insurance that covers abortifacients, sterilization and contraception continues to mount

In New York: the radically pro-abortion "Reproductive Health Act."

In the State of the State Address. Governor Cuomo outlined his comprehensive plan for the "Reproductive Health Act," to create a ‘fundamental right’ to abortion in New York State, prohibiting even basic protections, such as parental consent, jeopardize any agency that does not refer for abortion and seriously threaten conscience protections.

70,000 Americans tell Obama to overturn his mandate.

The Obama administration officials claim that they will meet with religious employers over the mandate that requires them to pay for drugs that may cause abortions, birth control and sterilizations for their employees. Meanwhile, 70,000 Americans have signaled they want the mandate reversed.
